Features
Web Search
Find the latest alpha from across the internet
Web Search Mode
Opus Terminal can search the web in real-time to find the freshest alpha that isn't yet on-chain.
Why Web Search?
On-chain data is powerful, but it's also lagging. By the time a token shows up in trending lists or holder metrics, the early gains may already be gone.
Web Search mode lets you:
- Find breaking news before it hits token metrics
- Research project announcements and partnerships
- Discover what influencers are saying right now
- Validate rumors with multiple sources
How to Use It
- Toggle Web Search in the chat input area
- Ask your question normally
- The AI will search the web first, then respond with sourced information
Example Prompts
When Web Search is enabled, try asking:
"What's the latest news about [PROJECT NAME]?"
"Are there any upcoming catalysts for $TOKEN?"
"What are people saying about this project on Twitter today?"
"Find recent announcements from @projecthandle"When to Use Web Search
| Use Case | Web Search? |
|---|---|
| Breaking news, rumors | ✅ Yes |
| Project announcements | ✅ Yes |
| Influencer opinions | ✅ Yes |
| On-chain metrics (price, volume) | ❌ No - use token analysis |
| Holder distribution | ❌ No - use token analysis |
| Historical price data | ❌ No - use charts |
Combining with Token Analysis
The most powerful research combines both:
- Web Search → Find the narrative and catalysts
- Token Analysis → Validate with on-chain data
Example workflow:
"Search for recent news about $PROJECT" (Web Search ON)
→ "Now analyze 0x... contract" (Web Search OFF)
→ "Based on both, should I enter?"Web Search works best for time-sensitive information. For pure on-chain analysis, keep it off for faster responses.
